VOLUNTEER

VOLUNTEER FOR THE 2025 REDWOOD COAST MUSIC FESTIVAL

Online Registration is NOW AVAILABLE!

Volunteers who sign up for at least six hours will receive an All-Event ticket. A wristband will be available for you to pick up at the will-call table at the Adorni Center beginning Thursday evening, October 2. Please bring your ID.

Roles Include:

  • Venue Helper: This is our most needed job, as they do the bulk of the work. Assignments can include answering questions such as “where are the restrooms?”, monitoring the exits that are not being used for entry and egress during the festival, checking for wristbands/badges and directing those without one to where they can buy one or exchanging a ticket for one, installing wristbands (not too tight, not too loose), and exchanging tickets for wristbands. Also, venue helpers will assist with collecting loose trash during breaks between performers and at the end of the day. Volunteer attire for Venue Helpers is black pants and a white top or Redwood Coast Music Festival shirt. Please, no shorts or flip-flops.
  • Cashier:  Cashiers are needed at the Adorni Center and at the Eureka Theater. The duties are to sell merchandise and tickets. It’s helpful to have experience using a computer, cellular data phone, iPad, cash register system, and credit card processing applications. Training will be provided. This position requires attending a training session (at least 2 will be offered at dates and times that will be determined as we get closer) prior to the festival. Attire for Cashier volunteers is black pants and a white top or Redwood Coast Music Festival shirt. Please, no shorts or flip-flops.

  • Band Hospitality:  At the Sequoia Conference Center, assist in food preparation, presentation, and serving band members while they dine. Attire for Band Hospitality volunteers is black pants and a white top or Redwood Coast Music Festival shirt. Please, no shorts or flip-flops. Also, bring a jacket and/or other appropriate clothing to keep warm as you move food from the kitchen, across the parking lot, and to the band dining area. There will be a mandatory training session prior to the festival.

  • Set-up:  Thursday, October 2.  Tasks include moving and setting up a stage, setting up chairs, decorating, etc.  Heavy lifting up to 60 lbs. may be required. Times will be determined as we get closer to the festival. Work attire is required.
  • Tear Down: Monday, October 6. Tasks include tearing down and moving the stage, taking down chairs and decorations, etc. Heavy lifting up to 60lbs. may be required. Times will be determined as we get closer to the festival. Work attire is required.

  • Band Shuttle Drivers:  Transport festival musicians in our rented Minivans in the Eureka area between hotels and venues. Must have a clean driving record. Drivers are needed Thursday through Sunday. The sign-up for this role looks different than the other roles, as we currently don’t know the transport needs for the bands yet. Once we get closer to the festival, we will call you to find out when you are available and match you with what is needed. If this looks like something you want to do, sign up now and someone will call you and figure out a schedule. In the sign-up database, you’ll find a work shift for each of the 4 days of the festival. Each of these 4 shifts will be for one of the days from opening to closing of the festival. We are not asking for you to sign up to work the entire day, you’ll be expressing your availability and desire to work a few hours (or more) on that day or multiple days.

Volunteer Online Signup

We use a volunteer organizing site (Bloomerang) to sign up and manage volunteers – Instructions to access the Bloomerang site.

To access the Bloomerang site and sign up, the first thing to do is to

  • Make sure you have Google Chrome as your default browser (if you don’t have it you will need to download it for free) .If this tries to open up another browser such as Firefox, it won’t work. Once you have Google Chrome, click on the button below to enter the Bloomerang site.

To Register Using The Bloomerang site:

  • This year, everyone will need to start over to sign up. You will be asked to put in your email address and to create a password. Please use your email address, not something that you made up, as this is how we contact you. I promise we will not use your email address for other things. Also, look over the email address you use to assure that there are no typos and gives an email address that doesn’t work and you won’t remember. Also, write down your password so you can access the volunteer site if you need to change the shifts for which you signed up, although “forgot my password” works most of the time.
  • Next, you will encounter some check boxes that you’ll need to check that says you will behave yourself on the website.
  • Next, you will be taken to the information sheet where you fill in some basic information. Please use your real name, but it doesn’t need to be your full legal name, but we don’t really want to know that your nickname is a type of wrapped food. It also asks for your street address which we don’t need. We would like to know in which city you live, but it’s not absolutely necessary. We need your cell phone so we can call or text you to see if we can ask you to fill a shift that is seriously understaffed. We may need to contact you to tell you that your email address comes back as invalid and we can’t send you necessary emails. If you don’t have a cell phone, put in your landline. We don’t need your t-shirt size. We don’t need your emergency contact information, we’ll call 911 if there’s a problem.

  • Finally, and very importantly, check the “I agree” box for the waiver.

Select your volunteer shift (s)

  • Now comes the fun part. Somewhere toward the beginning of finding a shift, there will be a listing of the roles available for the festival. You will only be shown available shifts for roles that you check. You can filter the various work shifts available by role (venue helper, cashier, setup…) by venue (Adorni, Eagle House…) and sign up for available shifts that suit your schedule and desires. Remember, if you sign up for at least 6 hours, you get a free All Event ticket that will get you into all six venues for the entire weekend.
  • If you already have signed up for shifts and need to change your shifts (add, subtract, or modify), use the button below to access Bloomerang. You’ll still need your email address and your password (remember, the one you wrote down).

And as usual, if you’re having problems with the Bloomerang site (when it goes live) and can’t find someone under 30 years old to help you, email me and we’ll fumble through it together!
